Building a Cathedral of Empowerment
Christine Titih’s Journey of Leadership, Service, and Purpose
By Success Grids
Christine Titih believes that true leadership is not defined by titles or recognition, but by service, dignity, and the ability to uplift others. A purpose-driven community leader, entrepreneur, and advocate, she serves as President of Oaks of Central PA and CEO of CT Home Care Services, where her work focuses on empowering immigrant and minority women through sustainable systems and opportunity.
Originally from Cameroon in Central Africa, Christine’s journey is shaped by resilience and lived experience. She often shares the story of three stonecutters one cutting stone, another building a wall, and the third building a cathedral. Christine identifies with the third. For her, leadership is about building a cathedral: recognizing people’s potential, nurturing purpose, and creating lasting community impact.
A Mission Born from Experience
Christine’s leadership philosophy was formed long before she founded any organization. When she arrived in the United States, Pittsburgh became her entry point into a new and unfamiliar life. As a single mother, she faced financial uncertainty, cultural adjustment, and the challenges of starting over.
During this period, community support played a life-changing role. Assistance from local organizations, including a church that helped cover six months of rent, provided stability at a critical time. That experience shaped Christine’s belief that timely support can change lives.
Founding Oaks of Central PA became her way of giving back. What began as providing essential assistance evolved into a deeper mission moving beyond short-term aid toward long-term empowerment. Christine believes true impact comes from helping people rise, not just survive.
Understanding the Immigrant Woman’s Reality
Christine understands that immigrant women often carry invisible burdens. Alongside family and work responsibilities, they navigate language barriers, unfamiliar systems, financial pressure, and emotional isolation.
Through Oaks of Central PA, Christine has created a space where women feel seen, supported, and empowered to take action. The organization has become a vital resource for African immigrant and refugee communities in the Greater Harrisburg area, offering advocacy, connection, and pathways to growth.
Christine believes empowerment must be practical grounded in tools, information, mentorship, and structure.
Leadership as Service
Christine’s leadership style is rooted in empathy, consistency, and accountability. She views leadership not as authority, but as responsibility.
Her approach begins with listening. She believes empowerment becomes real only when women have access to skills, reliable information, mentorship, and supportive networks. One of her most consistent messages is clear: start before you feel ready.
“Confidence isn’t something you wait for,” she says. “It’s built through action.”
EmergeHer: Creating a Platform That Didn’t Exist
One of Christine’s most impactful initiatives is EmergeHer, a platform designed to empower immigrant and minority women through entrepreneurship and leadership development.
Launched during the pandemic, EmergeHer was created in response to repeated requests from women seeking guidance on starting businesses. While many had strong ideas, they lacked access to mentorship and networks. What began as a one-time event quickly evolved into a growing ecosystem.
Since 2021, EmergeHer has offered networking events, financial literacy workshops, business seminars, expos, and forums connecting women with healthcare providers and government officials. For Christine, EmergeHer represents the platform she once needed and is now building for others.
Entrepreneurship as Confidence and Identity
Christine views entrepreneurship as more than income generation. For many immigrant women, it becomes a space where confidence is rebuilt and identity is rediscovered.
Through EmergeHer, women receive early-stage business support, peer connections, and access to resources. Christine emphasizes collaboration over isolation, believing that when women support one another, communities become stronger.
Breaking Barriers and Expanding Opportunity
Christine openly addresses barriers faced by immigrant and minority entrepreneurs, including limited access to capital, lack of information, and weak professional networks. Through partnerships, workshops, and exposure to resources, EmergeHer helps women turn ideas into sustainable ventures.
She also believes empowerment must include civic awareness. By connecting entrepreneurs with local, state, and federal officials, Christine ensures women understand how policy impacts opportunity and growth.
Leading with Dignity and Global Vision
As CEO of CT Home Care Services, Christine leads with the same values of dignity and inclusion, supporting adults with intellectual disabilities and autism. Her work extends globally as well, including entrepreneurship initiatives in Kigali, Rwanda, reinforcing her belief that talent exists everywhere but opportunity must be created.
A Cathedral Still Rising
Christine Titih represents a leadership model rooted in service, courage, and measurable impact. Through Oaks of Central PA, EmergeHer, and CT Home Care Services, she continues building her cathedral one woman, one family, and one community at a time.
